Those who have chosen to remain in Stehekin to protect their property spent an unsettling Friday night as the flames of the Pioneer Fire were visible after the fire progressed close-by behind the landing.

The photos in our gallery include pictures taken late Thursday and Friday night as well as Saturday daytime shots showing activities around the area including the landing and Stehekin Ranch. We have also included the most recent  Saturday update on the fire which progressed to upper Purple Creek yesterday. A new incident team from California has assumed command of the fire as of early Saturday morning.

After a full shadow day yesterday, California Incident Management Team 15 assumes command of the Pioneer and Easy Fires this morning at 6 AM.

The Pioneer Fire picked up in activity yesterday and the fire progressed to upper Purple Creek. Crews remained engaged and community protection measures are in place in and around Stehekin.
