Chip-sealing work on 97-A begins July 1st

A contractor for the Washington State Department of Transportation will be chip sealing three segments of US 97A between Wenatchee and Lake Chelan now through early July.

Starting Monday, July 1, a wheel-path chip sealing project will fix stretches of road from mileposts 200 to 201, from mileposts 214 to 216 and from mileposts 217 to 226, near the cities of Wenatchee, Entiat and Chelan, respectively.

Work will continue July 2, then it continues the following week, (July 8-11). Work will start at 7 a.m. and end around 5 p.m.

The work is part of the 2023 Strategic Pavement Preservation project, which completed crack sealing and chip sealing on sections of roadway from Wenatchee to Coulee Dam and from Othello to Brewster.

Travelers should expect flagger-controlled traffic and pilot cars with delays. Updates on traffic control will be posted on the WSDOT real-time travel map.
