One injured individual airlifted to Harborview Medical Center

information released by Chelan County Sheriff’s Office and Chelan Fire & Rescue

Sheriff Mike Morrison and Chelan Fire Chief Brandon Asher reports on 6/24/2024 at approximately 0116  Chelan Fire and Rescue, Chelan County Fire District #5, and the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residential fire on Ariel Lane.

Crews arrived to a fully involved 5th wheel trailer that had spread to two sheds, two vehicles, and had started a ¼ acre brush fire. There were multiple other RV’s that were also threatened.

Due to defensive fire conditions in the sheds and 5th wheel, crews stopped the brush fire from spreading to other RV’s first and then focused on extinguishing the main fire.

While responding to the fire, deputies were advised one person had sustained burns and was being transported by a private citizen to Lake Chelan Community Hospital.  It was also reported one female was still missing.

When fire crews were able to make access to the 5th wheel, one person was found deceased along with several pets.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation by the Chelan County Fire Marshal.  At this time there is no evidence of foul play.  However, the events leading up to the fire are still under investigation.

The person transported to the hospital was later taken to Harborview Medical Center and their condition is unknown.  The deceased person has not been identified at this time.
