Flood Watch Issued for Stehekin River

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Saturday (5/30) as well as a Flood Watch for the Stehekin River.

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected starting Saturday afternoon and continuing into the evening and overnight hours. The main impacts will be very strong damaging winds, large hail and lightning.

The National Weather Service in Spokane WA has issued a Flood Watch for Stehekin River at Stehekin affecting Chelan County.

* Flood Watch for the Stehekin River at Stehekin.
* From late Saturday night to late Monday night.
* At 10:30 AM PDT Friday the stage was 22.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Flooding is possible.
* Forecast…Flood stage may be reached early Sunday morning.
* Impact…At 24.0 feet, The River may be out of its banks in spots and onto the Stehekin Valley Road and Company Creek Road.
