Veterans Also Invited to Annual Appreciation Breakfast

Information and photo released by Manson School District

Manson has started a Penny War in honor of Veteran’s Day.  In addition to their annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast, Manson students have chosen to declare war (a penny war) to take action in supporting local Veterans.

Monday, October 28 through Sunday, November 6, students will be collecting donations to help their friends at Tatley Outpost as they build 3 tiny homes on their Veteran run farm near Pateros. Manson Schools believe in the Tatley Outpost mission to welcome Veterans home, help them through hard transitions, find healing, and love others because it’s just the right thing to do. Veterans can find healing and adventure in a nature centric setting!

If you would like to be a part of taking action to help local veterans you can:

  • find your favorite Manson student and give them your donation
  • stop by the High School office
  • contact @teaguelakechelan or hteague@manson.org if you have specific donations you’d like to make

penny war is a fundraising competition where two or more groups collect coins and bills in an effort to score points based on the amount and denomination collected. … The value of any pennies collected by a group count toward that group’s point total, while the value of other coins or dollar bills are subtracted.

In addition, Manson Students will be holding their annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast on November 8.

All local veterans are cordially invited to attend a breakfast in their honor on Friday, November 8 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Manson High School in the student center. Students will be preparing and serving pancakes, eggs, bacon and coffee. Please join us as we honor those who have served.
