Information released by Manson High School

Manson High School Principal Heather Ireland released an information update for Graduation 2020 Plan. On Friday, June 5th, MHS will post a pre-recorded Senior Awards Night and Slideshow starting at 7:00 p.m.  On Saturday, June 6th, there will be a Drive-Thru Graduation in the Northshore Bible parking lot starting at 11:00 a.m. Read the information in its entirety below.

Dear Seniors:

The guidance we have received from the Chelan Douglas Health District as recently as of this morning, has forced us to, again, change our graduation plans. While I wish we could do more, I also know it is important to put your cap and gown on and receive your diploma in person…so here we go with the final plan.

Senior Awards Night & Slideshow

On Friday, June 5th we will post our pre-recorded event to our social media and website @ 7:00pm. This will be a Golden Globe Awards themed event in which scholarship recipients that we have received thus far will be announced. Our traditional senior slide show will also be posted.

Graduation Ceremony – Drive Thru

On Saturday, June 6th beginning at 11:00 am, we will host a Drive-Thru graduation ceremony in the Northshore Bible parking lot. We will have a stage area where you (the graduate) will receive your diploma as well as a staging area for the members of your household to take pictures. Each timeslot is allocated for 5 minutes. Staff will be assigned to help uphold social distancing guidelines as well as conduct the flow of the ceremony. The ceremony will be streamed through Manson Schools Facebook Live and should be done at 3:30pm.

  • Graduates arrive on time at their pre-arranged slot (see attachment).
  • One household at a time will be permitted in the church parking lot.
  • Occupants of each vehicle at the graduation ceremony must be limited to individuals from the same household, up to two vehicles.
  • The graduate will be directed to the stage and await their name called. They will walk to the front of the stage to receive their diploma. Pause for a picture taken by Mr. Thomas.
  • Once the graduate has received their diploma, they will immediately move to the picture area. Staff will be assigned to help families move along at the end of their 5 minute slot.
  • Valedictorian, Salutatorian, Principal speeches as the Mel Steele recipient will be posted on our website and social media pages at 9:00am.

I am so proud of each of you!

Dr. Heather Ireland
