Always one of the favorite Chelan events, the annual Mahogany and Merlot returns to the shores of Lake Chelan this weekend. Showcasing vintage hydroplanes and a classic wooden boat show, the event runs Friday through Sunday and is based out of Lakeshore Marina at Don Morse Park.
Spectators will be able to see vintage unlimited hydroplanes from the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum such as Miss Budweiser, Atlas Van Lines, Notre Dame and more. Weather permitting, the vintage unlimited and limited hydros will stage exhibition races throughout the weekend.
Be sure to check out the docks at Lakeshore Marina where a number of antique and classic mahogany runabouts from Chris Craft, Century and Gar Wood will will be on display thanks to the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society.
Mahogany and Merlot will also offer a lakefront beer and wine garden as well as a vendor village in the marina parking lot.
