Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison reports, on 3/27/25, at 10:30 pm deputies responded to, 15000 block of US HWY 2, for a subject in crisis. The subject lives in a motorhome trailer behind a local diner.

The subject identified as Mark Germain, a 63 year old Lake Wenatchee resident, called into RiverCom advising he wanted to go to the hospital with an ambulance and would only go if deputies were there.

Deputies responded with Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue. From a position of safety the deputies made contact with Germain who came to the door of his trailer with a hammer and Machete in his hand. He refused to come out and advised he did not feel safe.

Deputies turned on the emergency lights to a patrol vehicle so Germain could see that they were there and ready to help him. After a period of time, the deputies saw Germain running towards their position with the machete still in his hand. He was advised to drop the machete and get on the ground. Germain complied and was taken into custody safely.
