Greer Bainbridge, a 2023 graduate of Chelan High School, is the recipient of a Shine On scholarship this year from the Lake Chelan Rotary Club. These scholarships are intended to assist seniors who have overcome significant adversity in life and have reached their goal of graduating from high school. Students were interviewed by members of the club’s scholarship committee as part of the selection process and had the opportunity to learn about Greer’s project to connect Washington students who are processing grief with resources to help them cope.

Greer’s father passed away when she was only 12 years old and she struggled with grief and isolation. As part of a senior year passion project, she developed a pamphlet designed to connect students to resources available for those grieving a loved one.

Greer will attend Washington State University this fall and plans to study nursing. She plans to become a midwife. Lake Chelan Rotary Club wishes her all the best in her university experience.
