It was a beautiful day for the third and final round of our Club Championship 2020. The winner was “Queen” April Talley! She is the Meryl Streep of our ladies’ golf club as you can always count on a win from her. This happens to be her 13th Club Championship in her career. Congratulations April!
“Princess” Barb Rayburn was the runner-up and the player with low putts in the three rounds. Jan Artim was second runner-up and winning Low Gross of the First Division. Low Net of the field was won by Nancy Parker.
Linda Hahn won First Low Gross and lowest putts in the Second Division. Judy Johanson won First Low Gross and lowest putts in the Third Division.
Besides the Club Championship, we also had a weekly competition going on for just Thursday’s scores. This week it was “ONES” (your gross score of holes starting with the letters O, N, E, and S less ½ your handicap). Twenty-two players were in this competition and the weekly winners were:
- Division 1: First Place, Barb Rayburn, 34. Second Place, April Talley, 34.5.
- Division 2: First Place was a three-way tie between Sherry Fisk, Sherry Ochsner and Janet Foyle, 37.
- Division 3: First Place, Nancy Parker, 34. Second Place was a four-way tie between Joni Dedo, Jane Storms, Bernie Raynor and Karen Erickson, 36.
- Birdies were made by April Talley on hole 7 and Barb Rayburn had 2 birdies on holes 11 and 15. There were no chip-ins today so our chip-in pot will carry over to next week.
There was also a meeting following play where the ladies are busy planning an Invitational Tournament that is both socially appropriate and still creates funds for our scholarships.
