Team Preview with Coach Domser

by Dennis Rahm

The start of the 2019 high school football season is only a few weeks away and the Chelan Goats are already busy getting prepared. The Goats had a turnout of 45 players for their first official team practice on Wednesday. Head Coach Travis Domser visits with Dennis Rahm of LakeChelanNow to talk about this year’s squad.

Coach Domser likes the fact his team has a good mix of youth and experience. He’s excited for the new season and tells LCN part of that enthusiasm centers around a new coaching staff that includes several “old” Goats.

“We’re going to do some moving around, pulling and trapping and having fun” – Coach Domser

The Goats will look to improve on last season when they finished winless in Caribou Trail League play and 4-6 overall. Coach Domser looks at Cascade and Omak as two of the top teams in the CTL but feels his squad may surprise some people this year.

Chelan will host a jamboree on Saturday, August 31 at 1 pm and will then play their first regular season game on Friday, September 6 at Brewster in a non-league contest. The first home Chelan football game will be Friday, September 13 hosting Warden in a game that kick’s off at 7 pm.
