During a special board meeting on Friday morning, the commissioners for Lake Chelan Community Hospital made two decisions they hope will bolster the hospital’s financial foundation.

The board has made the decision to shutter the the Sanctuary program that provides in-patient addiction recovery services. The hospital will explore options for providing similar outpatient only services.

The board also took action on the future of the hospital owned clinic which has operated at a loss since being purchased in 2015. One clinic option included closure and the board decided not to go that route. Instead, the commissioners have tasked the Administration with “right sizing” the clinic to become profitable.

It was also announced that during next Tuesday’s regular meeting of the hospital board there will be discussion on a restart of the replacement hospital project.

The entirety of the Friday special board meeting is available to listen to here.
