Early trick-or-treat plus games and scavenger hunts at the Fall Harvest Roundup

information released

Bring your little goblins and ghosts to the Fall Harvest Roundup at Rocky Reach Park 1-4 p.m. on Oct. 26 for an afternoon of hayrides, L-Bow the Clown, interactive games and trick-or-treating.

It’s all fun, and all free! Costumes are encouraged. Kids can toss a lasso, knock over boots with beanbags, compete in relays, and find a fish in a haystack, all while learning about clean, renewable hydropower.

Decked out in Halloween décor, the Discovery Center will host indoor scavenger hunts that span three floors of hands-on fun. Steer a steamship, crank a generator and hang out in a tule house. Maybe you’ll get the chance to see a big salmon in the full-length fish-viewing windows.

Feeling hungry? Mama D’s Café will offer affordable lunch fare – including hot dogs, chili, and nachos – in the upper shelter.

Rocky Reach Discovery Center and park will be closed until 1 p.m. Saturday, so staff can prepare for all the fun. The gates will open at 1 p.m. to welcome guests in for the Fall Harvest Roundup.

After the event, the Discovery Center will be open year-round, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.
