Match preceded by flag ceremony with Lake Chelan Lions Club
information submitted by Chelan Athletics
Thursday afternoon the Goats hosted the Brewster Bears in a non-conference match. The Goats would come out strong and took the ball down field to create many scoring opportunities throughout the match. Unfortunately, the ball would not cross the line and make its way to the back of the net. The goal keeper for Brewster made two big saves, getting the ball just before it crossed the line for a goal. The Goats continue to get better each match. They are learning new positions and strategies every match.
Before the game began today, the Goats had a Thank you presentation for the Lions club members who donated their time to put in a permanent flag pole at Mountain Goat Field. Followed by the thank you. The Goats were having their future goat day. This is where future players as young as three came out and did an international style walk out with the current goats. They were all announce by name and given a special gift from the current goats. Most of the players who attended had also participated in the camp a few weeks prior. The future is looking bright for when the future goats make their way on the high school pitch in a few short years.
Tuesday the Goat will be traveling to Okanogan to take on the Bulldogs, who are the defending B state Champions. This will also be the first opportunity for the goats jv squad to see some action. Go Goats!!
