Event Coordinators Indicate Snowmobile Drag Races are a Go

Despite some concerns with Mother Nature, the Wally Peterson Snowmobile Drag Races at Mill Bay Casino will take place this Saturday as part of the second weekend of Lake Chelan Winterfest. The event is sponsored by the Lake Chelan Snowmobile Club and organizers expect about 100 racers to participate.
Race coordinator Mitch Evans reminds that registration is scheduled Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mill Bay Casino restaurant and again Saturday morning from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. with the Saturday races scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
Evans says there will likely be 11 to 12 different classes of racing featuring a variety of sleds from stock to modified and from 600 to 1000 cc’s. Evans also notes that because of insurance issues, riders under the age of 18 will not be allowed to race.
