Watch for standing waters in roadways
information released
A handful of Flood Warnings, River Flood Warnings, and Flood Advisories have been issued across Washington and Idaho due to a prolonged period of rain and snowmelt causing rapid rises on rivers, streams, and creeks, resulting in flooding of low-lying areas.
In addition, soils are extremely saturated, increasing risk for landslides in areas of steep terrain and near recent burn scars.
Residents in low lying areas should be aware of rising waters. Travelers need to watch for standing water that could be deeper than expected, leading to hydroplaning while driving.
