Road closures remain in effect on South Lakeshore Road beyond Field’s Point. Fire officials confirm there is no public access in or out of the 25-Mile Creek area. There are downed power lines which will need to be addressed before people can safely travel through the area. Chelan County PUD has temporarily suspended power to approximately 130 residences in the area to allow crews to make necessary repairs.

Fire Update: 8:00 a.m., 7/30/2018
Fire officials report 100% containment of the 25-Mile Creek Fire.
Chelan Fire & Rescue Chief Tim Lemon indicated that does not mean the fire is completely out, but it is completely contained. Crews will be working on smoldering snags and hot spots throughout the day.
Chief Lemon is appreciative of the interagency rapid response and assistance from crews and air support who were already in the area. He reported that two garage/outbuildings were destroyed and there was some damage to homes, but no homes were lost.
Red Cross set up an evacuation center at Chelan High School, but volunteers reported to us this morning that fortunately, no one needed to take advantage of their hospitality.

Fire update: 7:30 p.m., 7/29/2018
The fire is being attacked by Chelan, Entiat, Manson and Douglas County Fire crews. They are supported by two Type II helicopter air support teams who were already in the area to fight the Chelan Hills Acres fire earlier this weekend. The fire has crossed both sides of Highway 971 (S. Lakeshore Dr.) at 25 Mile Creek State Park.
Winds have subsided, which officials say is a benefit in this early phase of the fire. Please avoid the area either by boat or vehicle and yield to emergency vehicles.
