An older family-occupied home on Manson Growers property was heavily damaged by fire this morning (Friday, 3-6). The 1930’s single story home with attic is located at 1845 Totem Pole Road.
Manson Fire Chief Arnold Baker reports all members of the family escaped without injury. Firefighters from the Manson Fire Department, with assistance from Chelan Fire and Rescue, were able to get the blaze under control and the structure remains standing with extensive interior damage.
Chief Baker said the fire started either at the furnace or refrigerator, and then ran up a chimney and into the attic. Baker said the age of the home made it difficult to contain as firefighters had to chainsaw through multiple layers of wood.
