Well known Chelan Civic Leader Emmit Aston will be recognized for his many contributions to his hometown community while being featured on the popular KOMO television program Eric’s Heroes. The program, hosted by Eric Johnson, is scheduled to air this evening in the 6 pm hour.

Aston has been a business owner, pharmacist, volunteer and a long time supporter of the local hospital. He is one of the longest standing members of the Lake Chelan Health and Wellness Foundation. It’s his work on behalf of the hospital that drew the attention of the Eric’s Heroes program.

Last month a special tour of the new hospital, now under construction, was organized so that Emmit could see first hand the project that he has been a strong supporter of. Foundation member Phyllis Gleasman said the new CEO at Lake Chelan Health, Aaron Edwards, was once at intern at KOMO TV and knew Eric Johnson. Gleasman served as point person and ultimately Johnson agreed to bring his crew to Chelan to accompany Emmit on his tour of the new building and to conduct interviews with Aston, family members and friends.

LakeChelanNow had the opportunity to join in Emmit’s tour and talked with Eric’s Heroes host Eric Johnson about coming to Chelan to profile Aston.

“The story about Emmit touched my heart” — Eric Johnson

Once the story airs, it will be available online at the KOMO TV website: Eric’s Hero’s.  On July 22nd, Lake Chelan Now will live stream a walk through of the new hospital which is scheduled to open later this year.
