Out of the Ashes of Wildfire: Stories of Recovery and Resilience

information released from Commissioner of Public Lands, Hilary Franz

For the last several years, I’ve witnessed first-hand the damage wildfires have caused in Washington. But, there is hope on the horizon and powerful stories of recovery and resilience. My team put together a documentary highlighting how our friends and neighbors have recovered from the devastation of wildfire and how communities are developing strategies for long-term resilience and recovery.

Out of the Ashes of Wildfire: Stories of Recovery & Resilience tells the stories of people who have lived through the devastation of wildfire, how they’re rebuilding from the ashes, and how we can protect against and prevent fires in the future.

I hope you will join me for the live premiere of this documentary this Monday, June 28, at 5:00 p.m.

You can set a reminder and watch the premiere at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsX6NLFLvZw

Wildfires impact our homes, our communities, our beautiful state landscapes, and even the very air we breathe. If we all do our part to prevent wildfire, I know we can turn stories of tragedy into stories of hope.
