It’s been more than 15-months since Chelan High School last played volleyball and what a match that last contest was! In mid-November of 2019 the Lady Goats mounted an amazing comeback from two sets down to defeat Kings 3-2 for the 1-A State Championship.

Returning a talented and experienced squad that features three All-State players, the team has been anxious to get back to play in a new season. Chelan will play a double header this Saturday in East Wenatchee taking on Eastmont and Wenatchee.

While it’s great to once again have high school athletics, it’s also unfortunate that the extremely talented Chelan volleyball team won’t have the opportunity to defend their championship as COVID restrictions won’t allow for post season play this year.

Coach Jennifer Rainville tells LakeChelanNow, “it feels great to finally be back in the gym”.

“It’s a Tough Situation Especially For The Seniors”

Chelan will be led by returning All-State and All-League selections Katie Rainville, Elly Collins, Morgyn Harrison, AJ Gueller and Olivia Strandberg.

The Saturday matches at Eastmont will see the Lady Goats take on Eastmont at 10:30 am and then they will face Wenatchee at 2:30pm. Chelan will be playing up as both opponents are 4-A division schools.

A reminder that COVID restrictions are in place and only a limited amount of fans will be allowed to watch the matches and no fans of visiting schools are allowed. LakeChelanNow will be on site to broadcast both Chelan contests.

Even if you can’t attend, you can follow the broadcast on lakechelannow.com/live
