Tunnel Still Closed — Contractor Begins Work on Monday

Information released by WSDOT

The day long closures for rock scaling work on US 97A between Entiat and Navarre Coulee Rd. wrapped up on Thursday afternoon.

The day long closures allowed for the contractor to work without stopping for traffic on weekdays.  There will not be a closure for this project on Monday (6/15) as originally planned.

The emergency closure of US 97A from milepost 223-230 (Tunnel area) continues.  Granite Construction has been selected as the contractor on this project and will begin work Monday, June 15.  Work will occur with the closed segment and is weather dependent.

Updates on this and other construction projects can be found on the WSDOT North Central Region construction and travel advisory page.

Travelers between Chelan and Wenatchee should continue to take Hwy. 97 on the Douglas County side of the Columbia River.
