One month remains before election day

Multiple local mayors have announced their support for Brad Hawkins for Chelan County Commissioner. The former and current mayors representing the communities of Cashmere, Leavenworth, Wenatchee, and Chelan, along with neighboring East Wenatchee, have joined several prominent community leaders and groups to endorse Hawkins.

The mayors referenced Hawkins’ proven track record of delivering results for the region, his extensive experience working with local, state, and federal officials, and his positive relationship with local businesses, citizen groups, and organizations as key reasons for the endorsements.

Many others are also supporting Hawkins, including former Chelan County Commissioners Doug England and Bob Bugert, Regional Port Commissioner JC Baldwin, Chelan-Douglas Land Trust member Curt Soper, community leader Gene Sharratt, former Chelan PUD General Manager Steve Wright, retired Judges Chip Small and Lesley Allan, Chelan PUD Commissioner Garry Arsenault, business leaders Bart Clennon, Doug and Katie Pauly, and others.

Organizations endorsing Brad include the Washington State Farm Bureau, Mainstream Republicans of Washington, Wenatchee Valley Fire Fighters Union, and others.

Hawkins “grateful” for support

Hawkins said he is very grateful for the support of the local mayors and so many community leaders. He said, “I have enjoyed the opportunity to partner with them to help our communities. I hope to continue that effort in the years ahead as County Commissioner.”

County Commissioner Priorities

Hawkins’ priorities for county commissioner include funding public safety needs, continuing to grow and diversify the county economy, maintaining a balanced budget, and mitigating growing property taxes. He has worked on various wildfire reduction, affordable housing, agriculture, budgeting and natural resource issues that will be helpful to the role.

Hawkins big winner in August Primary

Hawkins won the four-way District 3 primary on August 6th with 59 percent of the vote, over three-times the votes of the second-place finisher. Both have advanced to the general election on November 5.
