Early Season Winter Storm Arrives Today

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm advisory and hazardous weather alert for the Cascades and throughout Central and Eastern Washington.
An early season winter storm arrives Friday with snow across the region through the day and overnight. The last of the snow will be out of the ID Panhandle by early Saturday morning. A majority of the Inland NW will see some snow. The highest storm totals will be in the higher elevations in the Cascades and ID Panhandle.
Snow is expected to develop Friday morning and spread across eastern Washington into north Idaho in the afternoon. Wet accumulations are expected during the afternoon. The arrival of colder temperatures late in the afternoon and evening will have the potential to produce slushy or icy roadways for the FRI evening commute.
The cold, subfreezing temperatures will continue through the weekend, with the coldest on Sunday. Protect those spigots, sprinkler systems and pipes from the cold. Orchards, livestock, and other animals will be at risk for the very cold temperatures. Dress for the cold weather and avoid time outside.
