In their final meeting of the 2020 calendar year, the Chelan City Council on Tuesday night unanimously passed ordinances to approve the 2021 operating budgets for the City and the Lake Chelan Airport.
Also approved was the 2021-2023 Collective Bargaining agreement between the City and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees covering union employees. The council also approved an economic package for non-represented city employees. Other actions included renewing a professional services contract with RH2 Engineering consultants, extending the agreement for City Attorney services with Davis Arnell Law Firm, and also approving a one year golf course concession agreement with the restaurant CJ’s on the Course.
The Council also received an update from Sgt.Chris Foreman of the Chelan County Sheriff’s Department who shared statistical information from the summer season in Chelan. Foreman noted that despite COVID restrictions, law enforcement dealt with increases in calls for service and law incidents over the previous year. Within the city limits there was an increase in DUI’s and marine incidents. Foreman told the Council that the 2020 boating season registered more collisions on the lake than ever before.
