Information submitted by Chelan Youth Baseball

Batter Up! It’s time for the annual Chelan Youth Baseball season skills assessment event at the Community Gym.

Bring your budding baseball players at the time listed:

  • 7-8 year olds – 10:00 – 11:45
  • 9-10 year olds – 12:00 – 1:45
  • 11-12 year olds – 2:00 – 3:45

The kickoff and skills assessment event has two purposes. First, this will be an opportunity for parents and players to gather information about our program and meet coaches. Second, this will be an opportunity for us see the number of boys interested in playing and assess their skills for placement on our league teams.

League season starts in mid-March and runs through the end of May. Practices are held at the Chelan City Baseball fields. The league consists of three divisions: • Rookies – 7 & 8 year olds, machine pitch • Minors – 9 & 10 year, player & coach pitch • Majors – 11 & 12 year old, player pitch League player fee is $120.00. This covers insurance, league fees, administration costs, practice equipment, jerseys and hats.

Players are expected to provide a baseball glove, a pair of white and gray baseball pants. A baseball bat and batting helmet is recommended but not required as team bats and helmets are provided.

Near the end of the league season, two tournament teams will be formed – a 10u and 12u team. These teams will play in four tournaments in Chelan, Wenatchee, Yakima and Chewelah.

Chelan Youth Baseball was formed in 2011 and is dedicated to developing the baseball skills of our local boys and offering them the opportunity to play in competitive baseball games. CYB is an all-volunteer organization and we encourage you to ask how you can become involved. Please email questions & comments to: cybcoachsmith@gmail.com
