Goats next compete in Kings Cross Invitational

The Chelan Cross Country team traveled to Spokane on Saturday for the Highlander Invitational hosted by Shadle Park High School. Chelan athletes competed on a 2.5-mile course against over 1,300 runners from 48 schools from Washington and Idaho.
Chris Knight barely missed the podium by placing 26th in a solid race. Alex Marron, a senior in his first race, placed in the top third of the competitors. Teegan Silva and Mireya Garibay raced against predominately athletes from 3-A and 4-A schools; both placed in the top half of the field.
Tucker Fogelson and Bella Gatzmeier earned athletes of the meet. Both runners competed in tough field. Fogelson passed nearly 20 runners in the last mile and Gatzmeier showed amazing tenacity in her first high school race.
