The four time defending 1-A State Volleyball Champion Chelan Goats will be celebrated at the high school Commons and Gym during the basketball home opener against Ephrata on Friday night. In capturing this years championship, the Goats became only the second 1-A school to win four consecutive state titles.

The commons will be decorated for the celebration and will feature a photo booth, poster signings, face painting, necklaces and cotton candy. The formal introduction of team players and coaches will take place at halftime of the Boys basketball game. Team members will parade from the commons into the gym carrying the championship trophy.

The Chelan program is considered among the elite in Washington State volleyball circles and will return next year with a seasoned team that will certainly be one of the favorites to win it all once again. The Goats lose only two seniors from a roster that was dominated by sophomores and freshmen.

Regarding those seniors, Josie and Makayla Garfoot, it’s interesting to note that the seniors never lost a match at State!
