CTL vs. CWB Sunday at Community Gym

All League players from the Caribou Trail League and the Central Washington B League will meet in two All-Star games to be played this Sunday afternoon at the Community Gym in Chelan. If you can’t attend in person, both games will be broadcast on LakeChelanNow with Dennis Rahm at www.lakechelannow.com/live.

Former Chelan Boys Head Coach Jeff Pearl has organized the inaugural event that will provide one last opportunity to showcase the talents of the top players in the area. The squads are comprised of first and second team all league players from the two leagues with the Girls squads to be coached by the Boys Coaches of the Year from their respective leagues, while the boys teams will be coached by the Girls Coaches of the Year.

The Girls will play the first game of the day starting at 2 pm Sunday. Representing the CTL squad will be Chelan senior Aliyah Finch and Chelan junior Kira Sandoval. The team, coached by Scott Bierlink of Quincy, will also feature CTL Player of the Year Riley Johnson of Cashmere as well as other players from Cashmere, Quincy, Omak and Cascade.

The CWB Girls team will be coached by Jeremy Crollard of Lake Roosevelt and will feature all league players from Okanogan, Lake Roosevelt, Brewster, and Tonasket. Freshman Lydia Petersen of Manson is part of the squad, but has a prior commitment and will likely not be able to play.

The boys all league contest is scheduled to start at 4pm and will feature great representation from Chelan and Manson. The CTL squad will be coached by Brent Darnell of Cashmere and will feature four Chelan Goats in seniors Reed Stamps and Nate Harding, junior Braiden Boyd and sophomore Dylan Jay. Quincy also will be represented by four players including CTL Player of the Year Trey Vaughn Bierlink. Other players on the CTL squad represent Omak and Cashmere.

The CWB team will be coached by Steve Nygreen of Manson and will feature the talents of Manson seniors Nick Strecker and Parker Teague. The CWB boys will be a tough group with quality players from Okanogan, Brewster, Lake Roosevelt and Tonasket also taking part.

Tickets for the two Sunday All League games will be available to purchase at the door and are priced at $10 for Adults, $5 for Seniors and kids 12 and under are free. All procees from the event will go to the Chelan Youth Basketball program. The doors will open at 1:30 pm Sunday at the Community Gym with the first game tipping off at 2 pm.
