Chelan Boys and Girls both achieve perfect 4-0 in league play

Cashmere @ Chelan, league matchup Thursday, March 30. The wind was definitely a factor.  The elements made for a lot of difficult points played, and was definitely a benefit to the “scrappy” hustling style of tennis players.

Girls:  Chelan 3, Cashmere 2

#1 Singles:  Faith Kert (Cash) def Arden Paglia 6-0,6-0 <This was one of those tennis matches where the score does not represent the battle.  Faith is a returning state champion (doubles), but Arden scraped together a ton of impressive rallies and points.>
#2 Singles:  Piper Grossberg (Che) def Ashlyn Reichert 6-0, 6-3
#3 Singles:  Lucy Ray (Cash) def Ellie McLemore 6-3, 6-4
#1 Doubles:  Liv Strandberg/Caelan Rothlisberger (Che) def Reese Westlund/Sydney Young 6-3, 7-5
#2 Doubles: Josie Garfoot/Irene Hernandez (Che) def Elle Seidensticker/Izzy Hansch 6-2, 6-3
That close girls team win can be credited to the depth of the Chelan roster, as we were missing two varsity players but still managed to pull it out.  It was an exciting finish!  The Chelan girls are now 4-0 in the CTL and 6-1 overall.

Boys:  Chelan 5, Cashmere 0

#1 Singles:  Rylen Moody def JJ Groner 6-3, 7-6 (7-3)
#2 Singles:  Luke Christoperson def Reed Lewis 6-0, 6-1
#3 Singles:  Wade Sanderson def Micah Guerin 6-1, 6-1
#1 Doubles:  Cray Silva/Tristan Sanderson def Josh Dotson/Seth Martin 6-1, 6-1
#2 Doubles:   Caleb Sanderson/Sawyer Jeffries def Kyle Weedman/Jackson Meloy  6-1, 6-1
The Chelan boys are also 4-0 in the CTL, and 5-2 overall
Tonight’s wins by the Chelan girls and boys send both teams into spring break with perfect CTL marks, while concluding “lap one” through the CTL schedule.  We know that lap two after the break will be a battle.  Go Goats!

Chelan JV wins:

Signe Lillie/Ruby Harberd 8-4

Next up:  Chelan @ Quincy on Thursday, April 13
