Chelan Parks Department offers Discounted Parking Passes

There are a couple of sure signs of summer here in the Lake Chelan Valley. Flip flops become the footwear of choice. Grocery stores post “need ice” reminders at every check stand. Flocks of sun worshipers replace the Canada geese on the beaches. And almost simultaneously, both the Lake and all the parking lots fill to capacity.
Even the best day at the park can be ruined by the sight of a ticket flapping under your windshield wiper. But did you know that as a Chelan resident you can purchase an annual City parking pass for only $10?
Just bring proof of residency (your drivers license, property tax assessment, or utility bill for example) to the City Parks Office and you can get up to two annual parking passes per household.
The pass is tied to the license plate of a specific vehicle, so you can leave it in the car and all summer long you will be ready for an outing to Lakeside Park, Don Morse Park or Lakeshore Marina. You still need to follow all other park regulations of course — but you won’t be fumbling for spare change to feed the meter.
The Chelan City Parks Office, located at the entrance to the Lakeshore RV Park, is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. According to City staff, the passes are usually available in early to mid April — just before parking enforcement begins May 1st.
For additional information, contact Chelan City Parks at 682-8023. And check back with us on this website — LakeChelanNow will post reminders when the passes are ready for distribution.
