Arbor Day Education and Celebration Includes BBQ, Music and Free Trees

In honor of its commitment to community forestry, the City of Chelan has been named a Tree City USA for the eleventh year by the Arbor Day Foundation.
In an interview with LakeChelanNow, Kim Fogel, City of Chelan Parks & Recreation, explains the criteria and standards necessary to qualify for this distinction.

The public is invited to attend the City of Chelan’s annual Arbor Day celebration on Thursday April 26th, 2018 starting at 10:00 a.m. at Don Morse Park.
Fogel indicated the entire MOE 5th grade class has been invited to attend the ceremonies and participate in Arbor Day related educational opportunities that demonstrate how trees provide important resources and scenic landscapes to our valley.
Following a presentation by Parks Director, Karen Seargant, the City will be hosting a free hot dog barbeque with musical entertainment by the Chelan High School Jazz Band. One hundred and fifty tubed Norway Spruce seedlings will be given away
