Mix of remote and in person learning culminates in concert on March 31

Students in the Chelan Music Department have been working hard these past few months to prepare a Virtual Concert.  Much of this work has been done on their own during a mixture of remote and in person learning.  Bands were not allowed to play in person until after the State Department of Health modified the performing arts guidance on February 5, 2021.  Even after that modification, restrictions still limited the number of musicians to 15 or less for no more than 30 minutes with 9 foot social distancing required.  Needless to say, our students have done an AMAZING JOB adapting at every turn along the way.  During this difficult time to be a musician, music students have persevered and created some great music through many non traditional methods to share with their friends and family.

Please join us on Wednesday March 31, 2021 for a Youtube Premier at 7:00 pm.  The link is below. There will also be a link posted on the Music Department Website.

Here is a screenshot from the collaboration between the Chelan HS Concert Band and the Valley Winds Community Concert Band.  Members of our local community band prepared, recorded, and will perform virtually alongside our high school musicians.  Other bands will include the Chelan Middle School 6th Grade Band, Combined 7th/8th Grade Band, and the CHS Jazz Band.  Please help spread the word and enjoy an evening of music on Wednesday night, or at any moment in time following the release.  There are some benefits of virtual performances!
