Car-Motorcyle accident occurred on Highway 150 near Boyd Road

Authorities have confirmed the identity of a 48-year old Chelan resident who was the victim of a two-vehicle accident about 8:30 pm on Saturday on the Manson Highway just west of Boyd Road. Treye Hovinga, the father of three boys, was killed while driving a motorcycle when it collided head-on with a Jeep Liberty headed in the opposite direction near Key Lane.
The accident remains under investigation and may take up to two weeks to complete. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Department said witness reports and evidence at the scene indicated the motorcycle crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck the Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep was also a Chelan resident and reportedly sustained minor injuries.
