information released

A group of 20 people from Chelan, including EIGHT Chelan High School students will be traveling to Valencia, Spain from June 23-30, for a cultural tour and an international basketball experience.

The team will spend a week sightseeing Gothic castles, eating traditional Spanish meals, and swimming in the Mediterranean. The team will also play in a tournament against Spanish U18 teams inside Europe’s BEST basketball training facility:

KC Callero, the brother of Chelan High School’s head boys basketball coach, is the owner and operator of “Elite Tours”. He has organized the event.

KC Callero is a former professional player and coach who has lived in Valencia for over 20 years. He also works as an agent placing players on pro teams across Europe.

East vs West Summer Classic in Chelan!

Before heading to Spain, the team will compete in the Fourth Annual East vs West Summer Classic in Chelan on Saturday and Sunday June 15 and 16.

This is a “CLASSIC” and not a tourney for varsity level teams and includes a 3 point and dunk contest. All games are at Chelan High School or Chelan Community Gym

Each team will play two games Saturday and two on Sunday at preset times and locations. This will allow teams time to plan their team outings whether it is just hanging at the beach, bowling, golfing, or hitting the waterslides.

The format gives each “EAST” team four games against four “WEST” teams. The goal is to give everybody competitive games against teams they don’t play against in their local summer leagues and tournaments.

As of May 20, we have commitments from 15 teams:
