In one of our better showings for the year, Chelan boys broke the 350 team score mark with a 347 and had 5 of our 6 varsity boys shooting under 100. Leading the pack and medalist for the day was Carson Clinton with a 5-over par 76. His nearest competition was teammate Joey Gasper with an 81. It was a great day to be playing golf with the weather finally seasonably warm, sunny and downright beautiful!
For the girls, Cascade’s Zoe Boggs took medalist honors with a 112. Chelan’s Arabelle Finch struggled on several holes, but still came in right behind Zoe with a 115 for the day.
Chelan’s last home match will be this Thursday when we will have our Senior Recognition and honor our two senior boys and host Wenatchee and Quincy for a match.
Next week Tuesday we will split our varsity teams and send some to a tournament at Suncadia and send the rest to a practice round on the Quincy course where we will play our league championship match (May 17) and also determine state qualifiers. [The state competition will be held on two courses in the Spokane area, with practice rounds Monday, May 23, and two competition rounds on Tuesday (24th) and Wednesday (25th)]
