Coach Todd recaps Omak victory over the Goats

The Chelan Goats faced a challenging matchup on Friday night, as they took on the two time defending league champions, Omak Pioneers in a high school football showdown that showcased grit, determination, and sportsmanship. Despite a valiant effort from the Goats, they ultimately succumbed to a dominant Omak team, with a final score of 60-20.

The Omak Pioneers came out of the gate with an explosive start, quickly seizing control of the game. While Chelan fought back valiantly at various points throughout the game, Omak gradually extended their lead, ultimately sealing their victory. Omak’s performance was characterized by clean and efficient football, as they successfully avoided turnovers and displayed remarkable readiness from the opening whistle. The Pioneers’ disciplined approach on the field played a pivotal role in securing their win. Lance Gogal of the Chelan Goats emerged as a standout player for his team, showcasing incredible skill and determination. Gogal carried the ball 27 times, accumulating an impressive 173 yards and scoring three touchdowns. His outstanding performance was a testament to his dedication to the sport. Defensively, Dominick Solorza stepped up for the Goats in the absence of the injured Landon Johnson. Solorza’s tenacity and skill were evident as he recorded 5 solo tackles at linebacker, along with 5 assists, making a significant impact on the game.

While the scoreboard may not have favored the Chelan Goats on this occasion, their unwavering spirit and commitment to the game cannot be denied.
