Football and Cheer Honored during Senior Night

In a thrilling and spirited matchup, the Chelan High School Football Team faced the #4 ranked Cashmere Bulldogs in a hard-fought contest that saw the final score stand at 58-7 in favor of the Bulldogs. Despite a valiant effort by the Chelan Goats, the Bulldogs’ defense and offensive firepower proved to be too much to overcome.

The game started on an electrifying note with both teams locked in a heated battle. By the end of the first quarter, the score was an even 7-7. The Goats displayed their resilience and determination, but the Bulldogs demonstrated their prowess as the game unfolded.

Chelan’s offensive efforts were led by standout performers, Lance Gogal and Landon Johnson. Gogal carried the ball 24 times, accumulating a total of 80 yards, while Johnson contributed with 6 carries for 22 yards.

Quarterback Isaac Wilson went 4-8 in passing, gaining 44 yards, with a remarkable touchdown pass to wide receiver Jacob Allen, which energized the Chelan crowd. Jacob Allen, a key figure in the game, did not just shine offensively but also on the defensive side. He recorded an impressive 3 solo tackles and 4 assists, showcasing his versatility and dedication to the team’s success.

Defensive player Dominick Solorza also had a notable performance, contributing with 2 solo tackles and 4 assists tackles, helping keep the Goats’ defense resilient throughout the game.

The game had added significance as it was Senior Night for the Chelan Goats. This special occasion allowed the community to honor and recognize the dedication and hard work of the senior players who have been an integral part of the team.

The Chelan High School Football Team may have faced a tough loss, but they demonstrated remarkable sportsmanship and determination. Their commitment to the game and their never-give-up attitude are qualities that will serve them well as they continue through the season.

The team and its fans are eager to bounce back from this challenging loss and look forward to their upcoming game next Friday against the Cascade Kodiaks in Dryden. Kickoff is at 7 PM.
