In a thrilling non-league showdown, the Chelan High School football team displayed their unwavering determination and skill, securing a resounding victory against Cle-Elum with a final score of 42-7. The game, held at Cle-Elum’s home turf, featured remarkable plays and exceptional teamwork that left spectators in awe. The game began with Cle-Elum scoring on their very first play from scrimmage, setting an early challenge for Chelan High School’s Goats. However, it didn’t take long for the Goats’ defense to rise to the occasion, showcasing their resilience throughout the remainder of the game not allowing Cle-Elum to score again.
The defense created two crucial turnovers, with standout player Jacob Allen intercepting a pass and returning it for a spectacular touchdown in the second half. Dominick Solorza and Ryan Rainville were instrumental on the defensive front, each contributing significantly with eight tackles to their name. Inside linebackers Angel Saucedo and Lance Gogal showcased their exceptional skills and played pivotal roles in stifling Cle-Elum’s offensive efforts. The secondary unit of the Goats displayed an unwavering commitment to preventing deep throws from getting behind them, and cornerback, Jacob Allen’s solo tackle just before halftime was a moment that showcased the team’s tenacity.
On the offensive front, the Chelan Goats continued to exhibit their ground-and-pound prowess, with Lance Gogal leading the charge. Quarterback Isaac Wilson continued to demonstrate his leadership and strategic acumen, completing 9 out of 12 passes for a total of 68 yards, contributing to the team’s offensive success.
