Crews working on spring clean-up throughout the County

information released

THIS WEEK: Spring cleanup, including brushing, brooming and cleaning of culverts, continues across the five road districts. (see map below)

That’s the Entiat Crew in the photo above, re-establishing ditches in Crum Canyon last week.

  • If the weather cooperates, crack sealing may start on Mission Creek Road this week. Watch for one-lane traffic in the work zone when crews are crack sealing.
  • In the Chelan District, watch for crews brushing in the Manson area and on South Lakeshore Road.
  • Crews in the Entiat District will continue grading primitive roads.
  • And in the Leavenworth District, crews will be doing spring cleanup as well as repairing potholes across the district. Hopefully, snow and ice control is done in our northern-most district!

SEASONAL WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS:

We now have weight restrictions on in all the five county road districts — and they are expanding in each of the districts as well. Haulers above a gross weight of 34,000 pounds must get their free permit handed in by 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday prior to the day of travel. If you must travel on a Monday, the permit must be received by the Thursday prior.

ROAD REMINDER:

While it may feel like spring is here (saw our first madness of marmots!), we still have our seasonal road closures in place on a few roads that are popular with recreationists.

The dirt sections of Burch Mountain and Horse Lake roads in Wenatchee continue to be closed until April 1.

Also closed until then are Mountain Home Road in Leavenworth and Oklahoma Gulch Road near Entiat. Be patient – these roads will be re-opened soon!
