Each week Coaches nominate individuals from their programs that they feel are deserving of recognition for outstanding effort and participation as well as demonstrating what it means to “Be a Goat” or “Be a Pirate”. Being a “GOAT” or a “PIRATE” means competing in a Chelan uniform, using our CORE VALUES, and representing our school and community at the highest level.
CHS is pleased to recognize the nominees and winners of Student-Athletes of the Week, and present the nomination write-up from their coaches.
Each Winner, will receive a Free Pizza from Westside Pizza. Chelan Schools appreciates the generosity of Will Kandlik and Westside Pizza for their support towards Chelan Athletics and the Chelan Student-Athletes of the Week program.
Congratulations to our Student-Athletes of the week. Thanks to all of you, for all your support, and we look forward to seeing everyone this week supporting Chelan Athletics.

Kira Sandoval-Girls Basketball
Kira has been an amazing addition to the Chelan High School basketball program this year. Kira came into the season coachable, willing to learn and with a strong work ethic.
Kira has consistently found ways to get it done on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. She has been one of our top scorers on the JV team and leads the team in steals. She has also excelled bringing the ball up the floor in one of the most stressful positions as the point guard.
Kira is well liked by her teammates and coaches and are excited for future years in the program. – Coach Longmire/Coach Huddleston
Ben Ho -Boys Basketball
Ben is the epitome of a team player. He brings a great attitude to practice each and every day. Ben is willing to do whatever the coach asks of him.
Although he hasn’t been playing basketball as long as some of his teammates, Ben is learning what it means to compete and play like a Chelan Goat!

Melina Wyckoff- Cheer
Melina has truly shown what it means to be a Goat. Without a doubt she loves to cheer and can be heard from the mountain tops. She has been a great captain and friend to her teammates. She works hard, lends a hand whenever it is needed and will do anything it takes to help her team succeed. Keep up the great work Melina! -Coach Simpson
Alonso Benegas – Wrestling
Alonso is a freshman wrestler who has been wrestling tough. When he gives a 100% he is a force. He had a big win over Omak in 3rd OT at the Coyote Classic. –Coach Jordan
