Expect delays during Spring Rock Scaling work
information released by WSDOT, file photo
Day long closures on US 97A south of Entiat that were previously scheduled to begin April 11 will instead begin Tuesday, April 19.
Work on the rock slope adjacent to US 97A between milepost 211.26 and 211.42 south of Entiat will still begin on Monday, April 11 and will require flagger controlled traffic beginning Tuesday, April 12. Travelers can expect delays up to 20 minutes daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, April 15 and again on Monday, April 18.
Beginning Tuesday, April 19, the contractor will close the road between 8:15 a.m. and 5 p.m., with 15 minute openings every hour on the top of the hour to allow traffic through the work zone. Weekday closures on US 97A are scheduled Monday through Friday through April 27.
Extended closures allow the contractor to complete more work and ensures safety of the traveling public. Due to the nature of rock scaling operations, snow or rain could cause delays.
Updates for the project will be shared on project webpage, the WSDOT real time travel map, and on Twitter at @WSDOT_East.
