The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority (CDRPA) is pleased to announce the Phase 2 Report for the Regional Sports Complex Feasibility Study has been published and can be found at the following link: https://www.cdrpa.org/regional-sports-complex.

This report is the culmination of 16 months of work by BerryDunn to determine the need and feasibility for a new regional sports complex in the Wenatchee Valley. Their work was managed by the Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority and overseen by a steering committee made up of local elected officials and stakeholders.

The first phase of the study identified both a need and demand for improved and new sports fields and aquatics facilities. The second phase of the study focused on the feasibility of the project which included potential site locations, conceptual designs, estimates of both capital and operating costs, and an economic impact study.

“We are excited to unveil the final report for the regional sports complex feasibility study. This is a key step in our efforts to enhance community well-being and promote regional economic growth,” said East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford, steering committee chair. “This detailed analysis provides valuable insights into the potential cost and impact of the proposed complex. We encourage the public to thoroughly review the findings. Engaging with the report is crucial for ensuring that the complex meets the needs and expectations of our diverse community. The findings outlined in the report will serve as a critical tool in helping leaders and voters make informed decisions.”

The steering committee was presented with the Phase 2 Report on September 12, 2024. No actions were taken but the committee plans to reconvene this fall to discuss potential next steps.
