All 3 occupants escape unharmed

by Dennis Rahm

There were no serious injuries to the three occupants of a vehicle that went off the Manson Highway and plunged into Lake Chelan near Rocky Point this morning.

Marine 71, which coincidentally was conducting training maneuvers in the area, was first on the scene. Shortly thereafter, personnel and apparatus from CF&R 7, EMS, Chelan County Sheriff, and Washington State Patrol arrived to coordinate traffic control and extricate the car.

Initial reports from a WSP spokesman indicate the driver may have fallen asleep. The incident is under investigation.

Lt. Evan Woods, Chelan Fire and Rescue 7 tells Dennis about the quick response to the scene from the Fire Boat and Divers

As reported earlier this week, CF&R 7 has recently completed the first half of 16 hours focusing on Rapid Entry Swimmer training. The class will complete two 4-hour per day training sessions on July 13 and 14.
