City of Chelan Mayor position draws biggest response

Monday was an active first day of Candidate filing week in Chelan County, especially as regards interest in becoming the next Mayor of Chelan. While filing week remains open through Friday, already four citizens have stepped up to run for Mayor including the incumbent Bob Goedde and two current city council members. Also filing were local attorney Stan Morse and current council members Erin McCardle and John Olson.

There was one other filing for the City of Chelan as Brad Chitty will run for Position 3 on the city council. Position 3 is currently held by Chris Baker.

Other Monday filings included Kim Thorpe for Lake Chelan School District position 4, Aurora Flores for position 2 in the Manson School District, incumbent Mary Signorelli for commissioner 1 in Hospital District 2 and Doug Gibson for commissioner 5 in the hospital district.

Filings were also submitted yesterday or local cemetery, sewer and water districts, Fire District 5 in Manson and Manson Parks and Recreation. The filing period closes Friday, May 19 for the August 1 Primary and November 7 general elections.
