Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and Columbia Valley Community Health partner to present free health series
information released
The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT) and Columbia Valley Community Health (CVCH) are excited to continue the Hike for Health series in 2025. This free, eight month program invites people of all ages to explore the natural beauty of North Central Washington while learning about the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of engaging with the natural world.
Each event features a guided walk where participants can discover local plants and wildlife and learn about the property’s history. Walks will be offered once a month on Saturdays in English and Spanish. Those who prefer to explore at their own pace can still participate and enter a raffle for health-focused prizes by checking in at the event or submitting a photo of their hike later that day.
“We are excited to offer this series as a way for our community to stay active, build connections, and experience the healing power of nature. I hope to see you at our first event on March 15 at the Loop Trail – Coyote Dunes,” said Ayla Medina Ulloa, CDLT’s Community Inclusion Coordinator.
Registration for these Saturday morning walks is now open. Sign up at cdlandtrust.org/events.
Hike for Health events are part of the 40 for 40 celebration—CDLT’s year-long recognition of 40 years of land stewardship, new land protection, and expanding community engagement. As part of this milestone, CDLT is hosting 40 free events and publishing 40 special articles in The Wenatchee World to highlight the incredible places our community has helped protect. These stories and events celebrate the importance of conservation and invite everyone to experience the lands CDLT, its partners, and its members worked to protect.
