Chance of rain/snow mix in the lowlands and snow in the mountains on Christmas Day

information released

The next few days will be relatively mild for December.

Thursday and Friday some light snow chances will found around the mountains, with dry weather elsewhere. The period Saturday to Tuesday will see several systems track through, bringing alternating periods of wet and dry weather with lowland rain and mountain snow.

Light to moderate snow will be possible around the passes, with the best potential for impacts around Sunday afternoon and night and again late Monday into Tuesday. The more moderate amounts are largely expected at Stevens Pass; early estimates show 3-6 inches with the Sunday system and again with the Monday night/Tuesday system. It will be breezy Monday too.

Another system approaches for December 25th, Christmas Day, with a chance of a rain/snow mix in the lowlands and snow in the mountains.
