Expect snow Friday night into Saturday morning
information released
The National Weather Service anticipates that a winter weather system will move into the region beginning Friday evening, bringing periods of mountain snow through the weekend.
For the valleys and lowlands of central WA and northern WA/ID, their best chance of seeing snow will be Friday night into Saturday morning. Temperatures will warm through Saturday and change snow over to rain in the valleys thereafter.
The exception to that is some of the Cascade valleys and around Republic, where colder air will be more difficult to scour out and light snow may continue. Sunday snow levels will lower once again and bring light snow accumulations to some of the valleys again.
