This Saturday the Goats hosted the Bush Blazers and they traveled from Seattle. Last year the Blazers were at the top of their league competing for a state run. Going into this game the Goats knew it was going to be a battle from the start. The Blazers are very well coached and with most of their players playing year-round travel ball it gave the Blazers a distinct advantage. However, the Goats did not just roll over, they continued to put pressure on the Blazers midfield and defense.
Going into the second half the Goats made some adjustments to their lineup and were able to hold the Blazers to only one goal in the second half. This gave the Goats confidence as they were able to compete with a very talented Blazers team. The Blazers were able to come out top with a 6-0 win.
Because of some injuries to some varsity starters a few JV players were brought up for the varsity match on Saturday. With the limited number of players for the JV, they played a modified game to get players some minutes on the field. Both Blazers and Goats worked hard during the JV match with each team gaining confidence in their play.
The Goats will be traveling to Manson this Tuesday to take on the Trojans in a battle of the lake at 4:30 PM. Come watch this rivalry and cheer on the Goats!
