Sheriff Morrison reports, on 09-11-24 around 1030 hours, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a disturbance at 418 E. Woodin Ave. in Chelan, WA. The reporting party stated that a 34 year-old male, Jesus Lulo-Gonzales, had tried to stab him. The victim also stated that Lulo-Gonzales might have a handgun with him. The victim was not injured and was able to lock himself in a bedroom. Rivercom dispatch advised that the suspect had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Deputies arrived and found the suspect, Lulo-Gonzales, had left the area on foot. The Lake Chelan School district was asked to conduct a lockdown due to the vicinity of MOE Elementary. The lockdown was also issued for the High School and Middle School until the suspect could be located.
After a thorough search of the area, Lulo-Gonzales was found hiding behind two garbage cans on the side of a residence on East Okanogan Avenue. Lulo-Gonzales was threatening self-harm while holding a knife to his throat. A less-lethal bean bag round was deployed striking him in the arm, causing him to drop the knife and surrender without further incident. Lulo-Gonzales was transported to Lake Chelan Community Hospital to be medically cleared and was transported to CCRJC where he was booked on charges of Resisting Arrest and Assault 2nd degree.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Chelan School District for their fast response to the lock down request.
